A few of our fans have been wondering when they'll get to see more of our TackyShirt
training videos. Well folks, we're currently negotiating with one of the world's
largest publishers to get a distribution deal inked that will put our videos
on store shelves around the world. I just wish someone would have taken me to
school on the importance of distribution instead of letting us pick it up in
the school of hard knocks.
The plan of attack is to revise the first DVD just
as soon as Apple announces their next major revision,
since that's where the publisher wants to start out. I'll make
sure to take care of our pre-sale buyers, even with this new arrangement.

July 2003: Disc 1 is finally done!
Why did it take so long? Well, if you really want to know you can listen to
the interview here [1.8
MB], but suffice to say that the important two words are 'it's', and
'done'.
The DVDs will be back from duplication any day now. The shirts are being boxed
up. It's time to finally share our tacky vision with the world.
May 19, 2003 - In memory of: TackyShirt's art director, Kurt Christenson, died in an motorcycle accident this past weekend.
Kurt was the boyishly exuberant one on the set who brought in the all the crazy set decorations including the life-sized astronaut, wizard, pirate and army man. He exceeded my expectations and I was looking forward to having him as a permanent fixture in my TackyShirt crew because I knew I could completely trust him to keep coming up with even more brilliant ideas each and every day.
We'll be adding a dedication to the credits of our program to show our gratitude for his friendship and his artistic excellence in the short time we had together. He was the most entertaining member of my crew and to say he'll be missed is far too trite for such a universally adored individual.
People like that, you don't let go.
They're taken from you.

March 2003: Oh look! It's March! {sigh} I'm giving up on making a release commitment until we have the product ready to send to the DVD press. I'm just way too optimistic when it comes to that sort of thing. When we have the golden master, that's when you'll hear me shouting from the rooftops!
We are getting much closer. You can follow our progress in the TackyBlog. The audio is being mixed and the final high resolution graphics are being polished up. There is still a bit of work left, but those who have been privy to seeing advance clips have been giving back fabulous feedback. They love it. Hopefully my next update will be from some rooftop.

January 2003: Happy New Year!!!
TackyShirt had a booth at Macworld in San Francisco and by the looks of how people's eyes were lighting up, we're on the right track.
As we wrap up the first DVD, those of you who want to get a sneak peek at the amount of work that is going into this project, take a look at our new production blog.
It's an archive of the mailing list we use to communicate between all
our crew. To me it's just a way to get the job done but some of the
people on the list have told me it's "fascinating" and "quite
the soap opera."
At any rate, if you want to know how the project is coming along, the blog will give you more detail than you can handle. I'm talking down to time code numbers. We've removed the email addresses and phone numbers and such, but other than that, it's raw commentary.
It goes back to October so it's quite an epic novel. Enjoy!
December 2002: We're still plugging away! Editorial is taking much longer than we originally anticipated. But we're working hard to get it done. We're pretty sure our Media Kingpin, Sam Crutsinger hasn't seen direct sunlight since July.
At present, we have 14 editors who are in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Boston, and somewhere in Florida who are working on this material. Even with that many people it's still time consuming work to build such a complex and detailed video.
Regrettably, Disc 1, (The Basics) won't ship until January. We're extremely sorry for not being able to get anything to market sooner. Once we have substantial income from the first disc, editorial for discs 2-4 will go much faster.
On the bright side, those of you who are choosing to help us out by placing pre-sale orders will be getting a very sweet deal. After seeing how much blood, sweat and tears is going into this thing, we've decided that we have to charge more than we planned. When this is officially released, the MSRP for the full, 4-DVD set will be $150. Individual DVDs can be had for $40 each. This will not effect those of you who purchase a pre-sale bundle.
We're still honoring that deal. In fact that deal is still available.
Also we want to apologize for not keeping this info more current. All of our attention has been focused on the video.
October 2002: TackyShirt has been re-editing all the material to make it cover Jaguar. That's why we haven't shipped yet! The finished product will cover Mac OS X v10.2 and all the little (and important) changes it brings. We at TackyShirt can't express how sorry we are for not shipping sooner but all the changes will make this a much more useful product in the long run. Believe me, nobody want to see this DVD collection out to the masses more than us and we have 11 editors across the US working to get it there as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience. In the mean time, here's a low resolution version of The Dock lesson. A high-resolution version is available on the free demo CD in the online store.
August 2002: The TackyShirt store is now open for business!!
We are currently offering presales on the TackyShirt DVD set (with free shirt!) as well as the official TackyShirt T-shirt!!
