Product Placement Opportunities
We gave the idea of paid product placement the old college try and with us being a startup company and the economy being in the toilet as it has been, we failed out of school. =)
TackyShirt has found other funding so we're giving away the placement for free! We still have every intention of overloading our sets with Mac OS X compatible products so get us your packaging ASAP.
Software Vendors should provide us with display packaging for each Mac OS X native application you have available. Just to be on the safe side, it might be best to send 2 packages just so we'll have a backup. If you think our instructors will be inclined to talk about your software, please include an NFR installer so we can demo the software.
Shareware Vendors who may not have packaging for their products can send us an 8.5" x 11" or so promotional placard for any Mac OS X native shareware that's currently out. The placard should be in the style of a software box so look around at a whatever packaging you have around for inspiration or check out samples of layouts other people have designed. Actually, the average box is 8" x 9.5" but we have no reason to be strict on size.
Typically you'd want to have a simple graphic or an enlarged icon dominate the page with the product name easily visible from a distance. The company name (or author name in this case) is typically included but not overbearing. You may include the "Built for Mac OS X" logo as well. Please consult Apple's Software License Agreement page for guidelines about using Apple's logos for such purposes.
These cards will be standup displays that can placed around the set. In some cases we'll have the card up front with the instructors if they reference your software.
If you need additional design ideas, feel free to follow several of the links along the right side of this page for examples of products that your card may be seen along side.
Hardware Vendors who want to have your Mac OS X compatible products seen or used in the video can send display units to us. Feel free to send us non-functional demo units if the product is too valuable to give up. Sending in an empty product box will be adequate in many situations if the item is small. We would prefer to have a product to display in most cases as well as the packaging. Of course if we receive a non-functional demo unit, our instructors won't be able to demonstrate using the product with Mac OS X if they're so inclined.
We can return the products when editorial is completed this Summer at the vendor's expense. Please specify that the product must be returned and we'll ship it back as soon as possible.
If any of you have any POS display material that features Mac OS X in the promotion, we would love to have that on hand. We have 64 sets to dress and we need all the materials we can get our hands on.
Please send what you can as soon as possible to:

If you have any questions about the project feel free to contact us at placement@tackyshirt.com and we will get back to you promptly.
*Opportunities are limited to true Mac OS X products. Classic applications and hardware lacking fully functional OS X drivers need not apply.
Eligibility is at the sole discretion of the TackyShirt team of industry experts.
Our experts are professional journalists with the highest level of integrity. That's why TackyShirt hired them!
Their comments about the products displayed/demonstrated in this video will be based on their professional experience with those products.
Sending TackyShirt a product does not constitute any sort of contract or guarantee that the product will be seen in the final released product. We will make every effort to give everyone some visual air-time but editorial decisions may inadvertently cause a product to be removed from the final program.
